On average there are 300 unique visitors to this site each day. In terms of internet traffic, that’s miniscule! Of those, the vast majority come from Google. Most come from Korea, although I’m not sure why – I guess there’s a lot of ESL teachers there, huh?
The next top countries are the UK, Spain, Hong Kong (China), Canada, Australia, Japan, and Thailand. I don’t get any analytics information at all from China, besides that HK, which is the intended audience for this site, and anyone who knows the firewall restrictions there will understand why.
Most people coming to the site are interested in Deserted Island. On average my Deserted Island Blog Post gets about 300 to 400 views a month. After that the free games I offer, like Battleship and Say it First, do really well. I’m not sure why the Where in the World game never caught on, however – my students loved it!
And That ESL Book?
On average I get about 5 to 10 sales of the book in the UK each month and about the same in the European countries, with Amazon France treating me especially nice. Lately the book has started to get some downloads in India, but from my experiences a lot of books get returned. Maybe people just copy them then get their money back, who knows?
Anyway, I’m glad I wrote the book 6 months ago and that a lot of people are getting some use out of it. I’m also happy that people are getting a lot of free ESL games on this site, something that will make any ESL teacher’s job easier!
