She has a class of students, and like many ESL teachers, she assigned them a task to find out about something interesting. Well, one of them, Amy, found this site and thought it was pretty cool, which lots of other people have done as well. And once again I’m surprised where some of the emails come from.
She wanted me to point out an interesting link on the internet and citing sources, which can be good for anyone who does a lot of online research.
Here’s an interesting thing that Ms. Ward said about her class:
When I get to show the class that someone actually posted their link, I think it acts as a mini motivator and keeps them engaged in the project, which is obviously awesome!
Yeah, what an amazing concept, I know! But it works, garners you some respect, and makes your job easier. Try giving your ESL students some interesting projects that you can show off, such as:
- PPT Presentations;
- Restaurant Menus;
- iPad App Designs;
- Newspapers;
- Magazine Art Projects;
- And a whole lot more!
Thanks everyone in Ms. Ward’s class, and I hope she at least let’s you play one of the games on this site!
