Why?
I got a poor review on Amazon for my book Fun English. In the review, DDD says that “All the activities here can be found on the authors Website or in his other highly recommended book ‘English Rocks! 101 ESL games, activities, and lesson plans’.”
Now, both of the statements in that sentence are false, but I’ve already had 2 poor reviews torpedo one book that probably could've helped a lot of you, English Last.
Yep, I know what bad reviews can do to sales, of that book and other books, so I’ll be taking down most of the recent posts I’ve put up over the past 2 months…mainly because many of them are excerpts from Keeping Sane, the book I plan on putting out early next week, or sooner.
Writing ESL books isn’t that difficult for me, but it is getting a little harder coming up with new ideas, especially now that I’m not teaching. Honestly, and as I think you know, I don’t spend as much time on this site anymore. 2-star reviews on my ESL books don’t do much to make me want to increase that, either.
I will probably be taking Teaching English off perma-free this month, which means you won’t be able to get that book for free anymore. Why? Again, a poor review. Check it out – C.M. Hull found the book “Not very helpful.”
Why bother…why bother with this site, or these stupid books? I don’t make much money from them, and it does take a lot of time. What are the opportunity costs involved with this? Could I have won my election if I hadn’t been wasting time on an old job? Why am I wasting time on an old job? Most sane people would move on.
Get your fill this week…shake-ups are coming to ESL Adventure!
