Well, let’s be honest – it’s not new, it’s old as hell. It was used by myself and countless other teachers at EF in China, although I added quite a few more animal slides and such, like this:
So you’d talk about things like:
Yeah, I’m confused too, and that’s the look you’ll see on your students’ faces when you tell them the name of a place like this in English:
There are no words on this ESL Animals & Terrain PowerPoint, either. Nope, you’ll have to say the words, have a list, or have students look in their book…if you’re doing something from the book.
Terrain
- Jungle
- Forest
- Desert
- Plains
- Island
- Lake
- Mountain
- Pond
- River
- Swamp
And then make another list like this:
Animals
- Bear
- Camel
- Alligator
- Deer
- Dolphin
- Elephant
- Flamingo
- Kangaroo
- Bat
- Leopard
- Lion Tiger
- Ostrich
- Panda
- Hippo
- Shark
- Whale
And then print those lists out, cut them up, pass them out, hide them, burn them…whatever! Boy, you might be able to get two classes out of this great ESL PowerPoint!
