Download this Free ESL Scattegories worksheet here.

A worksheet that always worked wonders in my class was Scattegories.
Here you'll put about 3 to 4 students in a group, give them 2 minutes, then tell them a letter. They have to think of all the words that start with that letter, based on the categories on their worksheet. Expect a good 20 minutes out of this if you go 3 rounds. Another great worksheet for longer classes! |

I did this each summer and winter when classes were longer.

When I was working at EF (an English training center in China), we often had reading classes.
Students would read for 10 to 15 minutes and then we'd talk about it. One thing I found worked great was to give students a handout they could use to find lots of English grammar words. Read more in this ESL reading blog post. |

Playing ESL Battleship is a great way to let your students have fun, learn English, and kill a lot of time in class.
